Your baby is growing

At 32 weeks, your baby measures 16.7 inches long and weighs 3 3⁄4 pounds. You have been getting heavier by 1 pound every week. To prepare herself outside the womb, your baby will get a 3rd to half of her birth weight in the next 7 weeks. As she fattens up, her skin get really smooth. Toe nails, finger nails and hair are distinct on your baby.
Your life at 32 weeks
Your volume of blood would have increased to 40 to 50%. This will nourish your baby’s tiny, yet growing requirements. You may undergo breathlessness and heartburn as a result of your uterus pushing towards your diaphragm and crowding your stomach. Having smaller meals and sleepingwith the help of propped up pillows will ease out the discomfort.

In case of lower back pain, at this advanced stage of pregnancy, let your Doctor know. For this could be an indication of preterm labor. Or otherwise, the cause for your aching back is your expanding uterus and those hormonal changes in your body. Your expanding uterus changes the centre of gravity, while weakening and stretching your abdominal muscles. In turn, your posture changes and there’s a strain on your back. Hormonal changes also loosen your joints and the ligaments that connect your pelvic bones to your spine. It causes less stability and is painful when you move around. So minimize your activities to get some relief.
